Diary Update 06/03/2015

Thursday 05th March
Today we done some IP Address work for Networking and then i continued my Dragon Age website Assessment for web design.Then i did some core skills work.

Friday 06 March
Today we installed printers on the computer and i fixed the problem with the system restore, then in communication i was asked if i wanted to do a job interview video for Intermediate 2 level. Then i did some health and safety work for isobel.

Thursday 05/02/2015
Today we had our first networking class were we learned about different networks and then after lunch we were given our web design assessment so i have to build a 4 page website about anything so i chose Dragon Age Inquisition

Friday 06/02/2015
Today were given a new assessment from Isobel about the benefits and drawbacks of customization so i worked on that the first half of the day and then after lunch we had communication then in computer systems we worked some more on the customization assessment and then we had tutorial.

Today I handed in my blog assessment and I also worked on command prompt, learning the basics of finding files and using different codes.

Social Impact of IT

The social impact of IT has been greatly increased over the past decade I remember when Bebo and MSN first came out, everyone in school was on it in a matter of weeks back then I thought it was great that I could create my own profile and add my friends. Now a days there are more and more social network sites,  personally I can't really be bothered with them now. I think that if someone isn't on a social network site and there friends are it will effect the relationship between them, its come to the stage that IT plays a part in your personal relationships. In my opinion it shouldn't be the case that if your not online then you can be friends with someone. Do you think being online/or not online changes the relationship you have with your friends?

Today we worked more on our blog assessment and also did some customizing software work, we then done some working with others work and then in numeracy i had nothing to do as i have completed the units.

Today i worked on my formative assessment for customizing software, then in web design i worked more on my tourism website on Rome.

Today we continued to work on out blog assessment and also did some work making forms on word, until we got steve james with working with others, after that we were in numeracy.

Today we did more work on our blog assessment and also making forms in word after that we had web design where I continued to work on my Rome tourism website.

Potential threats in IT

With all the benefits of the Internet and social media there is also a dark side for example cyber bullying, this in the past few years has taken of even leading some people to suicide. This is unacceptable but i can't help but think why didn't they just delete there Facebook account or twitter if they were getting bullied.I feel that we ourselves have became obsessed about seeing what other people are doing as if we are comparing our lives to theirs. I'm not condoning the bullies in anyway I think more should be done to stop it, they just type the abusive language thinking they cant be touched they need to be proved wrong. Of course there are other dangers on the internet like virus's made to disrupt of even destroy your computer, steal your details and clean you bank account and of course like in the real world there are scams and con artists ready to steal from you. So like the world the internet can be a dangerous place.

The Impact of IT on communities.

The communities have been hit hard the last 10 years with the recession, unemployment and higher taxes but I think the communities are being  brought together by social media using it to organize all sort of events and fundraisers to benefit and advertise the community to others. I know the time of being able to leave your door unlocked has passed but hopefully social media will help rebuild them, my only concern is that the online communities will take president over the ones in the street, do you they will?

Impact on the individual

The impact of IT on the individual is a great one, these past 10 years has seen the rise of the social media machine giving people the opportunity to connect with the world. Though this is very exciting it is also in my opinion something to be cautious of. IT has given us a variety of freedoms especially to the individual that allows us communicate with friends and family at the push of a button whether that’s through email or social media. But has it come with a price? In this day and age the majority of people especially teenagers have access to the internet which I feel has made people more anti social in terms of actual face to face contact, when I was younger I was always out at my friends house or just generally outside but as time went on I would start using MSN to chat with my friends instead of actually speaking to them. Don’t get me wrong the internet and social media is great just not all the time, what do you think? Now just one more thing on my mind now, what about the people with no access to the internet I wouldn't say it was impossible to live but it would make it a lot more inconvenient, things like checking your bank, paying your bills, getting insurance, and looking for work because the Jobcentre is now doing all its applications online. Do you think you could go without internet for a week I know I couldn't.

Today I passed my earls ices assessment and started doing a power point on my favorite tv shows. We then had working with others, and then we had numeracy where i found out that i had passed numeracy,

Today we were given a new assessment in communication in the it industry on the impact of technology on individuals and communities a i worked on that and then we had web development were i started my Rome tourism website.
