Today we worked more on our assessments, I handed in my Earls Ices assessment and continued to work on my hardware assessments. After lunch we did some working with others then we were in numeracy, I passed the last numeracy assessment.

Today i continued to work on assessment 7.3 i finished my Graphics Card video and storyboard now i just need to make adjustments on my ram and network card video as well as complete the storyboard. When finished i will upload it onto my blog. I was then in web design where we were put into groups to do a 10 page website for a class competition. Next term the sites will be judged which will give up enough time to link them together. I was in a team with Shaun and Stuart.

In the morning we were working on our working with others assessment where we have to create a booklet about a systems analyst, we were then in working with others were we were given some paper work to complete to get the pass. We were then finally in numeracy where we did some graph work.

Tuesday 18th November
Today we created macros on excel rather than word with isobel. With Stevvvvvvvvvvveeeeee Jaammmmmmmmmmessssssssss we had our weekly working with others meeting and discussed our team project which is the game review website. In numeracy we dine some online graph chart questions.

Today we done our presentations for the talking to the professionals assessment, i then finished my html tasks in web design and started my far cry 4 website which has started okay though a lot more work is needed.

Diary update
07/11/2014
Today we created logos using adobe firework, learned about input, output devices. I also handed in my re submission of assessment 7.1 and learned what the nest assessment in installing hardware entailed.
Today we learned how to create macros and templates for word, followed by some adobe fireworks work, in working with others we made a decision about when our reviews had to be in for. For numeracy our lecturer chief was in a meeting so we done some work in the learning zone.

Tuesday
Today we worked more on the Working in IT assessment and i feel that i have got most of it done though i think i will tweak it a little bit, we did this most of the day. With working with others we got into our groups which consisted of Myself,Mick,Kellie,Shaun,Conor,Badger and discussed what we would be doing as a group we decided it would be a game review website. In numeracy i did the 1st test and passed which i'm chuffed about and that'll be it.

Today we continued to proceed through the virtual box activities in which we were customizing the free open office we installed on XP. I then started on the "How hard drives save data" questions i missed when i was off the previous Friday which i will admit had me stumped a bit. Robert Burns then came in and talked about what we thought of the course and asked if there were any things they could do to improve it, we then did a small questionnaire about it. Web development was next and i finished my "how to make a more interactive website" questions and read a power point on using Dreamweaver.

Diary update
Well this is my diary entry for the 2/10/2014 which is coincidentally my mothers birthday (i guess i should say happy birthday), today i was doing a new assessment for communication in the it industry which is a power point presentation on what skills and attitudes employers are looking for in applicants and what job roles are available. I did this till lunch and then i had web development and what i did was answer some questions about interactivity on websites and now i am writing on my blogg.

What i did today
Well this week in what i did today i write just about the exact same as i have every other week, we started off in communication in IT where week did some work on window xp using virtual box. We made some instructions for a beginner and a person with computer knowledge using some screen saves to show them how its done. For the beginner i showed them how to bookmark a page and for the other i showed them how to defrag their drive (well if they had xp, because i cant access the control panel on the college computers). For web development i completed my assignment and started to do some story boards for a website, and now i am in tutorial.

What i did today
Well another day another blog post, not a very interesting day today folks so i apologies in advance. This morning was all about the impact that computers have on peoples lives which to me personally is a great deal. We did questions about the Impact on communities and the advantages and disadvantages of IT, We then did web development where we got our second assessment which is alright i guess. Threats that IT might Introduce
The threats that the use of IT could have would be cyber bullying, viruses, Online terrorism, hacking, Cons artists emailing with fake opportunities. There are more so you need to be careful when going online and remember the risks.
Disadvantages to the community
Well the first thing that comes to mind would be the lack of contact with people, now a days people prefer to stay in and go on social media sites to talk to friends rather than going to actually see them. I think this diminishes the spirit of the community in terms of having a good ol chat with the next door neighbor.
Advantages to communities.
The communities now a days are very different to when my parents were my age, i think some of it is to do with the advance of technology through the decades. The advantages of IT in the community would mainly be to the organisation of community events ie.. Fundraisers, street parties. Also the news about the local community.
Disadvantages to Individuals- Impact of IT
I have made pretty clear in my previous post that i am a firm believer in the advantages of IT, but i will be the first to admit that there are some problems that need to be sorted out. I problem that I've heard people talk about is the now lack of human contact, which basically means we are replacing personal contact with a screen. Now that everyone (just about) is online the way of meeting new people has changed. Which brings me to cyber bullying, all bullying is wrong but now people can threaten, verbally and emotionally bully someone and remain anonymous which can't be aloud to continue.
My last point will be that there are still people who don't have their own computer and now a days if you don't have a computer then you are missing out for example.. signing on to the job center is now all done online so if you don't have means you are going to struggle, also you can get better prices or quotes online which could save you a lot of money. i.e Car insurance,(well any insurance), online shopping like amazon, Tesco.

The Impact of IT- Advantages to Individuals
Well to start off with i think IT has benefited everyone's lives greatly, i don't speak for the masses but i shudder to think of the day that i can't go on the internet which may sound slightly sad but i think a lot of us feels the same way. IT has brought a wide variety of freedom to the individual person, were it be on social media like Facebook or Twitter or being able to send a email to a person on the other side of the planet. All these i feel are advantages in the way that IT has impacted our live, although there is a dark underbelly to the web i think the the pro's outweigh the con's.

Well today has been a productive day, this morning the whole class had to a short presentation about themselves or a celebrity you like. Safe to say i couldn't think of anything interesting about myself so i decided go for the legend that is Sylvester Stallone, I remember watching Rambo when i was younger i always found it amusing that you never see him reload it was as if he had the unlimited ammo cheat that i used to use on Goldeneye on the N64. It seems like i have gone off topic with memories of my childhood.. Anywhoo i'll get back to the subject at hand, so i had finished my presentation and then it was time for lunch.
So a long hour and a sandwich later we are in web design were we just did some more power point (which to be honest is starting to get on my Tata's) for two hours and now here i am doing some blogging. To be honest i started to lose concentration and interest toward the end so i apologies for the very brief 4 lines that was half my day.. Till next time.
